Ada boys edged by Rams soccer

The visiting Ada boys soccer team lost 2-1 to Upper Sandusky in the nightcap of a girls/boys varsity North Central Ohio Soccer Association doubleheader Saturday night, September 11.

The Bulldog record fell to 2-3-2 and 0-2 in NCOSA play after the defeat. Meanwhile, US improved to 5-2 (2-0 NCOSA) with the victory. 

The Bulldogs play host to winless WBL foe Van Wert (0-6) Thursday, Sept. 16 at 5 p.m.

Lady Bulldog kickers fall to Rams

The visiting Ada girls soccer team lost 7-1 at Upper Sandusky in North Central Ohio Soccer Association action Saturday night, September 11.

The Lady Bulldog record dropped to 2-4-1 overall and 0-2 in NCOSA play with the defeat. US improved to 4-2-1 and 1-1 in NCOSA action after the win.

Ada trailed 5-1 at halftime. Senior Julia Kamatali tallied the lone Lady Bulldog goal. 

"Unfortunately, just too many mistakes from us tonight," said Ada coach A.J. Wahlie. "Conference games are never easy, and we will take what we learned tonight and move forward. 

Ada falls to Vikings in NWC/home opener

Host Ada started off strongly but could not sustain against a talented Leipsic squad, losing 49-14 in the Northwest Conference and home grid opener on a warm Friday night.

A large and enthusiastic crowd helped the Bulldogs commemorate their first game on the new synthetic turf with a touchdown drive on the opening possession of play.

Ada drove 68 yards to paydirt in 10 plays to take a 7-0 lead.

But Leipsic answered with 21 unanswered points to end the first half ahead by 14. The Vikings then roared to 28 more second-half points in succession to build a 49-7 cushion.

Ada added a late TD for the final score.

Eagles blank Ada boys September 10

The Ada boys soccer team was shut out 5-0 by visiting Liberty-Benton in the North Central Ohio Soccer Association opener Thursday evening, September 10, at War Memorial Stadium.

Ada fell to 2-2-2 overall and 0-1 in NCOSA play with the loss. L-B improves to 5-1-1 and 1-0 in league action after the win.

Lam Fagan scored two goals to pace the Eagles. Nick Schloemp, Garret Nealis and Quinn Taylor netted one goal apiece.

Ada plays at Upper Sandusky (4-2, 1-0 NCOSA) in another NCOSA bout Saturday at 7 p.m.

Lady Bulldogs fall to T-Birds September 9

The visiting Ada volleyball team lost in straight sets at former league rival Lima Central Catholic Thursday evening, September 9.

The Lady Bulldogs were beaten 25-17, 25-16, 25-16 and dropped to 1-7 after their sixth straight defeat. 

Versatile sophomore setter Autumn Andreasen passed out 11 assists, came up with six digs and three blocks, while also serving an ace and hammering four kills.

Bulldog junior Courtney Sumner mustered a dozen digs and hit two kills while serving a pair of aces.

Senior Lexi White hustled up 16 digs, and classmate Selena Jordan came up with 10 digs.  

Lady Bulldogs blanked at L-B Sept. 8

The visiting Ada girls soccer team, playing their first game in eight days, fell 8-0 to Liberty-Benton in the North Central Ohio Soccer Association opener Wednesday night, September 8.

The Ada record dropped to 2-3-1 overall and 0-1 in NCOSA play with the defeat. L-B improved to 5-2 and 1-0 in NCOSA action after the win.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed 4-0 at halftime. L-B netted four more goals in the second half.

The Ada girls play at Upper Sandusky (3-1-1) in another NCOSA battle Saturday evening, Sept. 11. The match is the opener of a varsity girls and boys Ada vs. US doubleheader starting at 5 p.m.
