Bulldog harriers post personal-bests at Kalida

KALIDA - The Ada cross country team ran well and finished 16th at the Kalida Invitational Saturday.

Senior Miguel Jordan led the Bulldogs as he finished 13th individually by covering the 3.1-mile course in 17:28.

"Kalida proved again this year to be in favor of Ada's runners," said Bulldog head coach Josh Klein. "Our top four male runners all set new personal records today as Ada finished in 16th place, edging out Allen East.  

"Alexis Ennis also improved her time compared to Wednesday, running a 26:44."

Marietta edges ONU in last 22 seconds

MARIETTA — Marietta converted a 2-point conversion with 22 seconds left in the game to rally past Ohio Northern 43-42 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Don Drumm Stadium.

Junior Anthony McFadden (Chillicothe/Paint Valley) completed 18-of-29 passes for 261 yards and four touchdowns and senior Chad Rex (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch) caught 10 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns for Ohio Northern (4-1 overall, 3-1 Ohio Athletic Conference).

Freshman Brock Martin (Attica/Seneca East) ran 12 times for 100 yards and two scores for ONU.

Volleyball at home Saturday

Saturday's Preview: The #16-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball program returns home to the ONU Sports Center this Saturday, September 29 as the Polar Bears welcome in the Marietta Pioneers for a weekend Ohio Athletic Conference showdown ... Match time is set for 1 p.m. ... The Polar Bears enter the match sporting an 11-3 overall record and a 1-0 mark in the OAC .

 

Grierson honored by OAC

Junior goalkeeper Meagan Grierson has earned Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Grierson anchored a Polar Bears' defense that recorded its fourth and fifth consecutive shutouts against Oberlin and Thomas More (Ky.), respectively, and a 2-0-0 weekly record during the voting period. The two victories pushed ONU's current win streak to five and moved the program to 5-2-0 on the season.

The five shutouts in 2018 give Grierson 25 clean sheets for her career, which ranks third all-time in school history.

Ada soccer boys edged by Falcons

ADA - The Ada boys soccer team was shut out 1-0 by visiting Riverdale Thursday evening.

The Bulldogs dropped to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in NCOSA play with the loss.

Keeper Drew Hadley was credited with 10 saves in goal.

The Bulldogs host NCOSA rival Tiffin Columbian Tuesday, October 2.

Bulldogs run at Bath Invite

LIMA BATH TWP. - The Ada cross country team competed at the 12-team Bath Invitational Wednesday evening.

"We did not run our best times of the season despite a flat course and the weather being cooler," said Bulldog head coach Josh Klein.

Senior Miguel Jordan paced Ada with a time of 18:54 over the 3.1-mile course.

Junior Michael Crouse was second for the Bulldogs in 20:24, followed closely by classmate Hunter Wells in 20:28. Sophomore Jacob Morgan finished in 21:06, with freshman Riley Ferguson coming in at 24:17.

Keegan Giddens ran a 24:49 and senior Brice Ferguson finished in 28:56.
