Season of Lent begins

Vendors with non-commercial art invited to May 11 fest'

Applications now being accepted

Vendors with non-commercial arts and crafts are invited to register for the 48th annual Bluffton Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday, May 11. The 9 a.m.-3 p.m. street-festival style show is held on Bluffton’s charming Main Street and includes attractions for the whole family, including food, live music, and children’s activities.

ONU men’s and women’ track teams excellent

During weekend Polar Bears Final Qualifier

The Ohio Northern women's track and field program secured six individual event titles at the 2019 Polar Bear Final Qualifier, headlining the team's performances Saturday afternoon inside the ONU Sports Center. 

The meet was not scored.

Northern won three event titles on the track and claimed three of the six event titles in the field events over the two-day event, which began Friday with the men's heptahlon and women's pentathlon competitions.

Vancrest employee spotlight on Daisy White

The March employee spotlight at Vancrest Ada is on Daisy White.

She is an STNA has served on the Vancrest staff for two years. Daisy graduated from Kenton High School and is attending Marion Tech working toward a bachelor’s in nursing degree.

She enjoys working as an STNA and said that her favorite part is getting to spend time with the residents as well as seeing them smile. She previously worked at Hardin Hills in its activities department.

Here's how the ONU spring sports team are doing

Ohio Northern spring sports teams are in full swing this week. Here’s a summary of softball, baseball, women’s tennis and women’s lacrosse contests.

Softball
PLANT CITY, Fla. — The Ohio Northern softball team exploded for 18 runs and 23 base hits in a 10-1 victory over Randolph (Va.) and an 8-0 victory over Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Monday at the Sunkissed Games.

The Polar Bears improve to 2-2, while the WildCats fall to 5-4 and the Monks fall to 1-3.

Junior Brady Guest (Convoy/Crestview) went 5-for-7 with a home run and 6 RBI in the two games to lead the Polar Bear offense.

Wednesday at the public library

Afternoon: Training session on Lynda.com; Evening: Dealing with grief

Two programs focusing on two different interests are on Wednesday's calendar at the Ada Public Library.

The afternoon is a "Learn to use Lynda.com" program. In the evening is the first of a series of programs on "dealing with grief." Details on both programs follow:

A free training session takes place at the library at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday. All you need is an Ada Public Library card to take the training.
