School board to meet Dec. 20.

The next meeting of the Ada school  board will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, in the board room at the school.

Shook named to AP second team

Ohio Northern left tackle Sam Shook (New Philadelphia) was named 2nd Team All-America by the Associated Press in football.

 

Shook, a senior, was also named the OAC Offensive Lineman of the Year, First Team All-OAC, 1st Team All-North Region by D3football.com and Academic All-Conference this season.

He had an outstanding season after missing most of the past two years due to injury, grading out at a team-best 89 percent as the anchor of the offensive line.

Monty Siekerman - Mr. Ada Icon - steps down Dec. 31

Public invited to retirement reception Dec. 19 at COSI

The community is invited to a reception for Monty Siekerman, who will retire as editor of Ada Icon on Dec. 31, according to Fred Steiner, Icon owner.

He has provided stories and photo for the Icon since 2015 and served as editor since December 2016.

The retirement reception is from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, at COSI, 534 S. Main St., Ada.

"We invite Icon viewers to congratulation Monty for all the work he has accomplished with the Icon and with countless community activities," said Steiner. "Monty has been the face of Ada Icon for several years and wish him well."

Three lanes will open Dec. 14

Interstate 75 between U.S. 224 and County Road 99, Findlay

Interstate 75 northbound between U.S. 224 and county Road 99, Findlay, will be traveling in three lanes by tomorrow morning's commute. (Friday, Dec. 14)

All four lanes of I-75 in both directions between Sandusky Street and U.S. 68/state Route 15 are currently traveling on the southbound side. By tomorrow morning northbound traffic, just prior to the U.S. 224 interchange, will be switched back over to the new three lanes on the northbound side.
