Women’s soccer advances in tourney

The Ohio Northern women's soccer team posted a 2-0 victory over Mount Union in the semifinals of the 2018 OAC Tournament on a rainy, windy night at Kerscher Stadium.

The second-seeded Polar Bears (14-3-1 overall) advance to the finals on Saturday night at 7 pm at top-seeded Otterbein, who topped fourth-seeded Capital 1-0 in the other semifinal match.

Ohio Northern will be making its fourth consecutive trip to the tournament finals.

The third-seeded Purple Raiders end their season with an 11-7 record.

Time change this weekend

The time changes this weekend. Fall back one hour. In other words, if you go to bed at 11 p.m. on Saturday, change your clocks to 10 p.m. You gain an hour of sleep. There will be more daylight in the mornings, which is a safety factor for children going to school; but, you’ll loose an hour of daylight in the evenings. 

Volleyball wins, in OAC finals

The No. 20-ranked Ohio Northern women's volleyball program defeated fourth-seeded Baldwin Wallace 3-1 inside the ONU Sports Center Thursday evening, securing their league-leading 27th all-time berth in the OAC tournament finals .

 

With the victory, ONU improves to 21-7 overall on the season. The Yellow Jackets conclude their postseason OAC tournament run with a 27-5 overall record.

Crimson Lane wedding and event venue open house Saturday

Crimson Lane wedding and event venue, rural Bluffton, is holding a Saturday open house.

The event is from 4 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, at Crimson Lane, located at 4600 County Road 1, Ada. For more details on the venue check its website or Facebook.

The 41st annual Music Feast will take place at the Ada Schools on Saturday.

10:00 a.m. – Alliance
11:00 a.m. - South Dearborn, Mich.

12:00 p.m. - Teays Valley, Pickaway County
12:30 p.m. - Strongsville
1:00 p.m. - Ada (free to the Ada community)
1:30 p.m. – Findlay
Tickets may purchased at the door at $12 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for students.

Women’s Chorus to present concert Nov. 2

The Ohio Northern University Women’s Chorus will present a concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 in Presser Hall. The group will perform an a cappella arrangement of “For Good" from the Broadway musical “Wicked” and other women’s chorus repertoire by some of the following composers: Ola Gjeilo, Johannes Brahms and James Mulholland. The concert is free and open to the public.
