How is your health? Find out Tuesday

The ONU Healthwise Mobile Clinic will be at the Ada Public Library from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Services are offered at no cost to the patient and include immunizations, tobacco cessation, medication reconciliation, health education, and a variety of health screenings.
The ONU College of Pharmacy operates Healthwise. Members of the organization visit Ada and most other communities in Hardin County several times a year, thanks to its partners, CVS and Mercy Health,

Bluffton Primary Care opens Monday

Dr. Leah Eiden's office opens at 161 Garau St., Bluffton

Blanchard Valley Medical Practices, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System will open its new office, Bluffton Primary Care, 161 Garau St., on Monday, Nov. 13.

Renovations to the building are finishing this week.

Dr. Leah Eiden will be re-locating her medical practice to Bluffton from Putnam County Primary Care in Ottawa. Dr. Eiden graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

PHOTO FROM LAST YEAR'S VETERANS' DAY BREAKFAST. The Ada Schools will honor veterans with a breakfast again this year and have lined up a speaker who has written 7 books on Vietnam. The free breakfast recognizes all veterans and their families as well as active duty personnel who live, work, or worship in the school district. The event will begin at 8 a.m., Friday, Nov. 10, in the school cafeteria. Phil Marshall of Springfield, a prolific writer on a Vietnam, will be this year's speaker. To make reservations, call the high school office at 419-634-2746.

Orange Township gets hit

High winds on Sunday night

FROM BLUFFTON ICON - An extremely heavy windstorm struck Orange Township, just missing the village on Sunday evening.

Power was out for at least four hours in some sections of the township. Dennis Morrison provided several photos to the Icon, showing wind damage.

He reported that the Kimmel barn at 2357 Orange Township Road 27 was heavily damaged in addition to other structures in that neighborhood. Parts of the barn were scattered across the field all the way to State Route 235, over one-half mile away.

It's a holiday party on Saturday

10 consultants bringing clothing and other merchandise just in time for the holidays

A Ladies Luncheon will be held at ONU on Saturday, Nov. 11. The Luncheon is free, reservations are not required. Ten consultants, representing various companies with clothing and other merchandise, will be on hand from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The event will be held in the Affinity Room along Polar Bear Way. This is in the set of residence halls along West Lima Avenue.

Door prizes will be given, refreshments will be served, and there will be games.
Kelcy Musselman, organizer of the event, said, "This will be a good time to do some holiday shopping, meet friends and neighbors, and make new acquaintances."

Liberty Benton advances next week

The 2017 Ada football campaign came to a close last Friday night as the Bulldogs were ousted from post-season play by top seeded Liberty Benton, 49-18. 

The loss marks the third consecutive first round exit for the Bulldogs, who finish the season 7-4.  Liberty Benton (10-1) continues its quest in the Division VI, region 22 playoffs as they move on to play #4 seeded Hicksville (9-2) this Friday night in Defiance.
