Everything you need to know about Saturday's Harvest and Herb Fest!

31st annual event sponsored by Ada Area Chamber of Commerce

Ada rolls out its red carpet on Saturday, Sept. 17, for the 31st annual Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Harvest and Herb Festival, according to David Dellifield, this year’s festival director.

The outdoor festival is among the largest crafts festivals in northwestern Ohio, featuring over 150 booths.

Highlights:
• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – over 150 craft booths on Main Street
• 9 a.m. - ceremony in depot park for the renovated railroad caboose
• 10 a.m. – parade (from Ada school down Main Street to College)
    (parade forms at 9 a.m. at the Ada school)

Ada remembers Sept. 11 with impressive ceremony at fire station

Ada observed the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States with a ceremony at the Ada-Liberty Township Fire Department.

During the ceremony a flag was presented to the fire department. The flag had flown over Camp Five, Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Freedom on July 4 of this year.

Harvest and Herb queen candidates

Five Ada High School seniors are candidates and one will be crowned Ada Harvest and Herb Festival queen. The festival is Saturday. You'll see the candidates in the parade and at noon the queen will be announced. From left, Libbie Milks, daughter of Mike and Beth Milks; Ashley Breidenbach, daughter of Travis and Tracy Breidenbach; Mara Guyton, daughter of Christine Cavallaro and Steve Guyton; Olivia Guyton, daughter of Christine Cavallaro and Steve Guyton; and Rielyn Castle, daughter of Cherie and Raymond Castle.

High-octane Ada offense blast LCC 35-13

The high-octane Ada offense returned to form last Saturday afternoon as the Bulldogs traveled to Lima Stadium and pummeled former league rival LCC, 35-13.

Bulldog receiver Chase Sumner had a career day, snagging 14 receptions for 174 yards and 2 scores, helping to keep the Thunderbirds winless for the year. The Bulldog victory moves them to 2-1 on the season, ranking sixth in the division 7, region 28 computer polls.

Hardin Dems get ready for Harvest and Herb Fest'

The Hardin County Democrat Party will hold its September meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Democrat Party Headquarters, 16 N Main St., Kenton.

Main agenda items will be a Hardin County Fair report, final plans for the Harvest and Herb Festival in Ada, the October luncheon and the November election.

Anyone supporting the principles of the Hardin County and Ohio Democrat Party are welcome and encouraged to attend.
