Sheriff Keith Everhart hands out candy to Chuck and Jessica Kaman's  sons, Colton and Kylar, in Alger on Thursday.

Some years, Halloween in various communities occurs on different days, but this year all area towns decided Halloween would be on the same day, so the sheriff's office was busy all over the county.

Sheriff Everhart had eight deputies plus Volunteers in Public Service handing out candy in every community that evening.

The Alger Community Center opened its doors for Halloween.

Crazy Cat Lady, in hair curlers with stuffed cats attached to her, takes a little time to read at the Alger Public Library.  The library handed out treats to all of those who came by on Halloween, and many did.

Members of New Birth Living Word on SR 235 in Alger gave out hotdogs, candy, and hot chocolate to kids on Halloween on Thursday evening. This is the second year that the church, pastored by Wayne T. Vaughn, has participated in Halloween.
