Ada’s Mackenzie Wills gets two wins for ONU
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — Senior Lynn Kelly (Mason) and sophomore Mackenzie Wills(Ada) led the Ohio Northern women's tennis team as it wrapped up its spring break trip with a tight 5-4 loss to Coe (Iowa) in Altamonte, Florida.
The Polar Bears fall to 8-3 overall, while the Kohawks improve to 12-8.
Wills went 2-0 to lead Northern, posting a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles and teaming up with sophomore Kaleigh Cummins (Springfield/Northeastern) to win 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
After falling 4-6 in the first set at No. 2 singles, Kelly rallied to win the final two sets 6-4, 6-4.
Sophomore Katie Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) also posted a victory at No. 5 singles by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
The Polar Bears return to action and will open there home schedule on Sunday, Mar. 18 as they welcome Trine (Ind.) to Ada for an 11 a.m. contest.
