Ohio Northern University’s Gospel Ensemble will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a concert in the ONU English Chapel on Sunday, April 29, at 4 p.m.
Adriane Thompson-Bradshaw, vice president for student affairs, dean of students, and director of the ensemble since its inception, says the ensemble began in 1987 with African-American students who wanted to share their heritage through gospel music. The group’s first performance was in January 1988, at the University’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day worship service. The first full concert was presented in the spring and continues to be a tradition for this all-volunteer group.
“The First Five” (Theta Alpha Phi), a musical theatre group, will entertain throughout The Inn’s Food & Wine Pairing event at The Inn at ONU on April 26. Enjoy a variety of selections including jazz, pop and Broadway musical. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is $45 per person. A portion of proceeds will benefit the group’s charitable cause.
A selection of outstanding foods and wines will be presented. Wines that are featured throughout the evening will be available for sale immediately following the event.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association will be adding a seventh tournament division in football beginning in 2013, Commissioner Daniel B. Ross has announced. The addition of a seventh division was approved by the OHSAA’s Board of Directors by a 6 to 3 vote during its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday.

Registration is now open for the 2012-13 school year. 2012-13 brings changes to our previous hours. In 2012-13, Ready, Set, Grow Preschool will offer Morning (8:30-11 a.m.) and Afternoon (12-2:30 p.m.) classes three, four, or five days each week. We accept students that are age 3 (and potty-trained) to age 5. We offer rolling enrollment throughout the school year as long as class space is available.

Smull College of Engineering have created a team of robotic football players to compete in the fourth annual University of Notre Dame robotic football competition on Friday, April 20, at 7 p.m. in Notre Dame’s Stepan Center.
