A community pumpkin scavenger hunt is on the Ada community calendar on Monday, Oct. 29. Persons of all ages are welcome to participate in this fun evening.
Participants will receive maps at the Ada Depot on Main Street at about 6:30 p.m. on the 29th. The scavenger hunters will look for the business involved to find the numbered pumpking at the location.
When the maps are completed participants will bring them back to the Depot by 7:30 p.m. Halloween snacks will be available while the drawing for prizes takes place.
Prior to the scavenger hunt, a Halloween parade starts at 5:30 p.m. near the Ada police station.

Last spring the First United Methodist Church building was lost in a tragic fire. It devastated the town of Ada, all surrounding areas, and anyone who heard about it. The question on everyone’s mind now is what will happen next?
The congregation is currently meeting in English Chapel on Ohio Northern’s campus, but working on plans for the building and vision as a whole. Dr. Robert McCurdy is chair of the First United Methodist Church building committee and has been hard at work, along with all the committee members, trying to restore the church.
The passing of the 2012 federal tax filing extension deadline at midnight tonight means that now is a good time to start looking ahead to the 2013 tax filing season. Many working taxpayers may benefit from a review of their federal income tax withholding rate, according to the Internal Revenue Service.
“It's not too late to adjust your 2012 tax withholding to avoid big tax refunds or tax bills when you file your tax return next year,” said Jennifer Jenkins, IRS spokesperson for Ohio. “Act soon, though, to adjust your tax withholding to bring the taxes you pay throughout the year closer to what you actually owe.”
The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its weekly football computer ratings Tuesday, Oct. 16. The weekly computer ratings are released every Tuesday afternoon beginning after the fourth week of the season, leading up to the final report released on Sunday, Oct. 28. The top eight teams in each region will qualify for the regional quarterfinals.
Freshman Devon Price has been named OAC Football Special Team Player of the Week for the week of October 15.
This past Saturday against Marietta, Price took the opening kickoff 70 yards to set up the Polar Bears first score of the afternoon.
In addition to his big return, Price had two receptions for 94 yards, including a 75 yard touchdown reception in Northern's 56-14 win over the Marietta.
This season, Price has a 25.1 yard average on nine kickoff returns.
In addition, he is second on the team in receptions and receiving yards with 15 and 235 respectively.

Evelyn E. Fleming, 92, died at 7:15 p.m. Oct. 11, 2012, at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
She was born Aug. 19, 1920, in Ada to R. Wayne and Anna Elzay Wright, who preceded her in death. On June 8, 1940, she married Lester V. Fleming, who died Sept. 13, 2009.
Mrs. Fleming was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Ada. She was a 1938 graduate of Ada High School, Ada.
Seniors Tate Humphrey and Carter Paul had career days, leading Ohio Northern to a 56-14 football victory at Marietta Saturday afternoon at Don Drumm Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Pioneers fall to 0-6, 0-5.
The victory was also the 100th career coaching win for ONU head coach Dean Paul. In 14 seasons, Paul now has a 100-39 career record. He is 60-27 in nine seasons as Ohio Northern.
Humphrey completed 14 of 21 passes for a career-high 271 yards and 3 TDs and Paul ran 23 times for a career-high 121 yards and three scores.
