Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present “The Drowsy Chaperone” from April 16-18 at 7:30 p.m. There also will be two matinee performances on April 18 and 19 at 2 p.m.
What to do about the beautiful, white-blooming pear trees along Main Street downtown?
This issue was discussed at a public meeting Tuesday evening at the United Methodist Church. About 30 people attended, Including city officials and members of the tree commission as well as business property owners and store managers.
Some of the pear trees are in decline due to fire blight. Discussion centered around replacement tree varieties, whether to plant all the same variety or several kinds, and whether to replant all the trees (there are 68 of them) at the same time or replant them over several years.
Various opinions were voiced; no consensus was reached.
Ohio Northern University was ranked in the top 10 as one of the “best value colleges in the state of Ohio” in a study conducted by SmartAsset, a financial date and technology company.
According to the study, ONU placed third among all schools in Ohio, finishing with a “College Education Value Index” of 71.4. Ohio State University was first overall with an index of 74.60, and Case Western was second with a value index of 72.34.

The project officially began April 10, but weather will impact the date shovels first
hit the ground. The Village is expecting work to begin by the end of April.
It was robot football at ONU this past weekend feature the Polar Bears vs. Notre Dame.
The visitors scored the first two touchdowns making the score 12-0. The downhearted crowd soon was joyous as ONU closed the gap by scoring 10 straight points, including a 99-yard-run that brought the crowd to its feet. The final score was ND 26, ONU 21.

Robots don't get broken bones or concussions, but they do break down and are temporarily sidelined. The robot football game drew 400 excited spectators...the crowd was partial to the home team.
Ada High School held its 109th Interclass competition in the HS auditorium in late March. The senior class was this year's winners.
This is an annual scholastic event in which the sophomores, juniors, and seniors compete against each other in the areas of essay, poetry, short story, and dramatic readings.
Law enforcement and pharmacy students teamed up for Medical Disposal Day in Ada on Saturday.
Forty-two people showed up to safely dispose of unwanted or expired medical supplies, mostly drugs. Some drugs can safely be flushed down the drain while others cannot because water plant filtration systems cannot fully treat them.
Pharmacy students helping are from the Academy of Students of Pharmacy. They worked with the sheriff, his deputies and Volunteers in Police Service.
