Fred Steiner, Icon editor, is the featured speaker at the Thursday, April 25, spring tea sponsored by the Friends of the Bluffton Library.
The tea is at 5:45 p.m. and tickets are $12 each and must be purchased in advance. The tea is at the library, 145 S. Main St., Bluffton, where tickets are available.
The speaker is author of several Bluffton-related books. The most recent is “The Bluffton We Never Knew: Photos from 1861 to 1911,” “Bluffton: A Great Place To Miss,” which include stories from 1900 to 1975, and “A Century of Pirates,” a sports history of Bluffton High School covering 1900 to 2000.

Watch for more traffic through Main Street Ada the week of April 22.
State Route 81 just east of State Route 235, within the village of Ada, will close Monday, April 22, for approximately one week for a water line repair project, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Local drivers will create their own detour paths around State Route 81 on the east side of Ada.
Check the map below - Meanwhile, ODOT's official detour route brings traffic through Main Street (SR 235) then to SR 309-701 on to US 68 and back to SR 81. Work is being performed by the Village of Ada.

That was part of the reason he chose Ohio Northern – it really was home. That said, being involved in the production of a Super Bowl commercial wasn’t something he ever expected to happen to him, let alone through his Ada and Ohio Northern connections.
Through his family’s business, Everhart Trucking LLC, Aaron was presented with the opportunity to operate a truck used in the filming of a CBS Super Bowl pregame commercial filmed just down the road from ONU’s campus at the Wilson Football Factory.
The word is out - caterpillars are hanging around inside the Ada Public Library. The library staff apparently doesn't mind. In fact, they encourage patrons to stop in and say "hello.'

OTTAWA - The Ada tennis team lost 4-1 at undefeated Ottawa-Glandorf in a makeup match Thursday.
Ada fell to 7-3 with the defeat while O-G ran its perfect record to 7-0. The Bulldogs are now 4-1 vs. WBL teams this spring.
Bulldog senior Cade Mullins posted the lone Bulldog win at first singles in straight sets to improve to 8-1 this spring.
"Today was a tough loss for us," said head coach Cody Hurley. "For the first time this season we just weren't able to produce our best tennis on all five courts. It was unfortunate that it came against such a great opponent, but sometimes that happens.

DELPHOS - Ada lost a tight pitcher's duel at Delphos Jefferson 2-1 in a Northwest Conference softball contest Thursday evening.
The purple and gold fell to 5-7 overall and 0-3 in the NWC with the defeat. Meanwhile, the Lady Wildcats improved to 3-8 and 1-1 in league play with the victory.
"We only had two hits - that tells the story right there," said Ada head coach Rebecca Dicke. "Dalton pitched a good game, we just didnít hit well enough to support her."
All three runs in the low-scoring game were tallied in the third inning. Ada broke on top 1-0 in the top of the third when Alexis Ennis doubled Brenna George home.

DELPHOS - Host Delphos Jefferson scored 11 runs in its last two at bats to defeat the Ada baseball team 12-2 in a Northwest Conference game Thursday evening.
The Bulldogs fell to 6-5 and 1-2 in the NWC with the loss, while DJ improved to 6-5 and 2-0 in league play with the win.
Ada led 1-0 after one inning. DJ tied it with a run in the home second, yet the Bulldogs pushed across a run in the fourth to regain a 2-1 edge.
But then Jefferson blew the game open with eight runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Wildcats added three more runs in the sixth to end it with two outs by the 10-run rule.
Sophomore women's golfer Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) has been tabbed the Ohio Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week for the April 1-8 voting period, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
