LIMA __The Awakenings Victim Outreach Program at Area Agency on Aging 3 was awarded a multi-year grant through the Health Path Foundation of Ohio to support older adults (60+).
The Awakenings Victim Outreach Program supports older adults across Allen, Auglaize, Hanock, Hardin, Mercer, Putnam, and Van Wert counties who have experienced abuse, neglect, or exploitation. These funds are available to assist with a variety of direct services that can help improve their safety and well-being following any number of situations. The items or funding must be needed as a direct result of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
The next meeting of the Friends of the Ada Public Library is March 19 at 7:00 p.m.

Friends of the Ada Public Library is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the Library in our community. Friends help promote the library, develop activities, present special programs, and encourage reading and use of the Library. Friends meet about every other month to discuss and plan upcoming library functions. Attending meetings is encouraged to share ideas, volunteer for programs, and keep up-to-date on library activities.
On March 13, 2025, at 5:54 p.m., Ada officers were dispatched to 735 North Main St, Apartment 14. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased 30-year-old male, Konner Ernest.
Konner was discovered by family members who had come to check on him. The Hardin County Coroner’s Office was contacted for assistance, and Konner was taken to Montgomery County for an autopsy.
The initial autopsy findings suggest that Konner passed away from natural causes.
Join us in celebrating Ada High School student Benjamin R. Burkheimer, who is taking the next big step in serving our country! He is headed off to Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for the United States Air Force, where he will train as a 2A334 Fighter Aircraft Integrated Avionics Specialist.

Jerry Lynn “Rough Cut” Patton, age 75, beloved father and grandfather, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 4:36 p.m. at his home in Harrod.
He was born on October 1, 1949 in Lima, Ohio to the late James and Maxine (Combs) Patton. On December 19, 1970, Jerry married Peggy Christine (Lusk) Patton. Peggy preceded him in death on May 27, 2019.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers has recognized nine Ada High School students for their works of mixed media, painting and photography.
Their works are currently on exhibit at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and are included in the Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio Region in competition.
The talented and deep Ada High School softball team will shoot for a league title as first-year members of the Blanchard Valley Conference in 2025.
The school’s second district title and beyond is also within the team’s grasp due to an experienced and skilled senior group, as well as some promising young players.
The Bulldogs finished second in the Northwest Conference each of the last two seasons, and would have been co-favorites for the elusive league crown with defending NWC champion Lincolnview this spring.
All ability T-ball for boys and girls ages 4 years and up has been announced on Facebook.: "We're excited to offer an All Ability tball team in Ada for the second year!! The team is for children who have a disability or diagnosis making traditional team sports difficult. Open to residents of Ada and surrounding area."
Every Friday morning, a group of retired Ohio Northern University faculty, staff, alumni, and local elders gather at Buckeye East Coffee Shop in downtown Ada for coffee and conversation.
