Teaching Ada youth to swim for 49 years

By Monty Siekerman
Sandy Neely began teaching Red Cross swim lessons at the Ada pool on Monday...for the 49th year.
Yes, some of her 75 students this year are third generation children that Sandy has taught. She said she told the village that next year would be her last as instructor, so the village should begin searching for a Red Cross certified instructor.
The summer of 2018 will be her 50th year, that's one reason why she has been named Citizen of the Year in Ada in 2015.
She is passionate about youth learning to swim.
