Ada Youth Football program on the road back

More photos at bottom of story –
The Ada Youth Football program had a very successful 2020 season. The combined Ada teams finished the season with 29 wins and six losses.

The program competed in the new Hardin County Developmental Football League, which included teams from
• Ada
• Waynesfield
• Kenton
• Riverdale
• Hardin Northern
• Upper Scioto Valley.

Kenton is going ahead with its Saturday Halloween costume judging, lineup, parade and trick-or-treat. The flyer above tells the details.

It begins with Bosco cheese stick with marinara sauce and, of course, offers your choice of pepperoni or cheese pizzas on Friday.

It's the November Ada school menu. You may click here to view it, or read it at the bottom of this story.

General manager of ONU dining services will complete council term of the late Don Fleming

Ada council announced the appointment of Noah Ristau, general manager of Ohio Northern University dining services, to fill the council vacancy created due to the death of Don Fleming.

Council’s unanimous selection of Ristau was made following interview meetings on Oct 26 and 28. Ristau will be sworn in as a council member during the Nov. 10 meeting.

An announcement on the village website follows:

There are dog days of summer, and now dog days of Halloween. The Icon took this photo a couple years ago of the Ada High School office pet dressed for the season. It's appropriate for today.

From the Ohio Department of Health

The Ohio Department of Health offers caution during tonight’s local public trick-or-treating.

General guidance
Consider the people in your household who may be at greater risk of complications if COVID-19 is brought into the home, such as those with certain health conditions, women who are pregnant, or older family members.

For parents
• If taking your children trick-or-treating, limit the number of houses you visit and ask your children to stay as far from treat-givers as possible. For small children, consider holding the bag for them.
