Dr. Monjuri Saha Das, age 59, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 4:10 PM at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born on April 3, 1962 in Netrakona Bangladesh to the late Sudhir C. and Promila R. Saha. On December 11, 1988 Monjuri married Dr. Kalyan Kumar Das and he survives in Ada.

Monjuri is also survived by her two children: Parthib Das of Columbus and Progga Das of Toledo; and one brother and six sisters. She was preceded in death by a brother.

Anyone that has suffered with any autoimmune gastrointestinal disease knows what it is like to work day in and day out with this horrible condition. We suffer in silence a lot because the subject is not pleasant to talk about with co-workers.

I have been dealing with this disease for 32 years and have some good days and some bad days. You can feel great one minute and then go the other way quite quickly. The only comparison is to the stomach flu when trying to describe it to anyone. The bad thing about this disease is that it not only affects the bowel. It can affect your eyesight, skin, joints and muscles. The side effects from all the medicine can also affect these symptoms.

Registration for Ada First United Methodist Church's Vacation Bible School has begun.

Children ages 3 through 5th grade are encouraged to join Friday, August 6th and 7th, from 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with a celebration on Sunday, August 8th at 10:00 a.m.

This year's theme is "Anchored, Deepening Faith in God."
