The Ohio Northern men's golf team will look to post its fourth consecutive winning season in 2017-18 under the guidance of fifth-year head coach Chad Bucci.
The Polar Bears posted a 49-33-1 record during the 2016-17 campaign and finished fourth at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships.
Bucci welcomes back nine letterwinners to the team in 2017-18.
"It's going to be tough filling what was the heart and soul of this team for four years," said head coach Chad Bucci. "Blaine [Ricketts] and Tyler [Anderson] were part of many school records and were a big part of our success."
The cool, refreshing summer swims are over at the Ada Pool, so now work begins on a major renovation that is slated for completion by April. 2K General Contractor of Delaware, Ohio, was the successful bidder on the $1,159,000 project which includes a new filtration system, new concrete around the pool, the renovation of the bathhouse, the addition of a splash pool, and a new concession stand. Saundra Neely delivered several donations for Hurricane Harvey aid to the North Central Ohio Chapter of the Red Cross serving Hancock, Crawford, Hardin, Marion, Monroe, Seneca, Union and Wyandot Counties located in Findlay.
One donation was a check from Ada's Junior Civic League representing part of the proceeds from the group's annual pecans sales. These sales will be starting again this fall with delivery in November. Pecans can be ordered at the JCL booth at the Ada Harvest and Herb Fest.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s office is currently investigating a multiple vehicle crash that occurred at 8:04 a.m. at County Road 110 and Township Road 205 in Goshen township.
A southbound vehicle on Township Road 205 occupied by five juveniles failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by a vehicle headed eastbound on County Road 110.
Three of the five juveniles were lifeflighted to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo with life-threatening injuries.
Two other juveniles were transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals. The driver of the other vehicle was treated at the scene.
Lifelong Learning Connections, formerly known as Senior Forum, will be offering a variety of sessions in October.
Hosted by the University of Findlay and sponsored by the Office of University Advancement, the program provides opportunities for additional learning about interesting topics. The sessions, hosted by University experts and those from the region. Most will be held each Wednesday in October in the University’s Alumni Memorial Union on Frazer Street, but some will involve tours. Participants may choose their level of involvement by attending as many sessions as they wish.
