On October 18, the Ada Rotary Club hosted a forum for candidates running for seats on the Ada Schools board of education. There are three seats on the five-member board opening in 2024.
Five of the seven candidates who will appear on the November 7 ballot participated in the forum. The seven candidates are:

The Ada High School boys soccer team scored two second-half goals, including the tiebreaker in the final minutes, to rally past upset-minded Pemberville Eastwood and win their intense sectional semifinal match 2-1 Wednesday evening, October 18, at War Memorial Stadium.
Bulldog junior Nathan Williams calmly buried a penalty kick goal into the upper right part of the net with 2:51 remaining to provide the final margin of victory.
Ada had earned the PK try on an accidental Eastwood hand ball in the box off a Williams right corner kick.
The Bulldog record improved to 4-7-6 after the exciting comeback win. Ada has won two in a row after a 12-match winless streak.
Ninth seed Ada now visits top-seeded Liberty-Benton (10-4-3) Saturday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. in the sectional finals (new time).
This weekend, October 19-22, The Freed Center for the Performing Arts will feature The Thanksgiving Play, which the center describes this way: "When a troupe of really, really well-meaning theater artists attempt to put on a culturally sensitive Thanksgiving school pageant, things get messy. Hilarious and poignant, this satirical comedy reflects on the truth behind Thanksgiving."
Bulldog Williams 1st team All-NWC; 6 Bulldog boys honored

Six Ada High School boys soccer players received All-Northwest Conference honors in voting conducted recently by the league coaches.
High-scoring Bulldog junior Logan Jolliff was named first team all-league. The speedy forward was the second-leading vote-getter on the All-NWC squad. Jolliff led Ada in goals scored.
