Scholarship and royalty application deadline is March 27

MEDIA RELEASE__The seventh annual Hardin County Goat Banquet will be held on Saturday, April 11 at the Kenton  Missionary Alliance Church. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and the banquet will begin at 5:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend the banquet. 

This is a free, family-friendly event. There will be a potluck-style supper with the main dish and drinks provided. Guests are asked to bring a side dish and/or dessert if they are able.

In 1735, Gaspar Casal of Spain described a disease he named mal de la rosa (sickness of the rose), which was spreading across Europe. Then, in 1771, the Italian physician Francesco Frapolli of Milan gave the same disease the name pellagra. At the time, Southern Europe depended on corn as a major food source, especially in the more impoverished populations.  Pellagra was known by the four Ds, including dermatitis (skin rash), dementia, diarrhea and death.

Dr. David Strittmatter will provide a program at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26.

MEDIA RELEASE__Hardin County Job & Family Services (HCJFS) has announced updates to its Social Services leadership team as part of the agency’s continued focus on strengthening services for children and families. 

Abram DeWeese will join HCJFS as Assistant Director / Social Services Administrator, effective  March 2. DeWeese brings extensive experience in child welfare leadership, including oversight of child protective services operations, team supervision, quality practice initiatives, and collaboration with community partners.
