ONU’s American Marketing Association places first in national competition
Ohio Northern University’s American Marketing Association (AMA) took top honors in a Strategic Allocation of Business Resources (SABRE) market simulation competition at the AMA International Collegiate Conference New Orleans on Thursday, March 22. ONU was one of 35 universities that participated in the eight-hour competition, including Ferris State University and Johns Hopkins University, which placed second and third, respectively.
“Our team competed against marketing students from some of the largest and most prestigious business schools in the country,” said Randall Ewing, associate professor of marketing. “This speaks volumes for our students and the quality of our program here at The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration.”
Ohio Northern University’s team was comprised of marketing majors Jordaan Williams, a senior from Grayslake, Ill.; Megan Siwik, a junior from Parma Heights, Ohio; and Meghan Mahoney, a senior from Lewis Center, Ohio.
SABRE is a market simulation program used at leading business schools across the nation. During the simulation, teams, which are comprised of between three and six people, add and withdraw products from the market as well as advertise, price, distribute and design products to fit into the market segments.
