Ohio Northern University’s Phi Beta Delta honorary society for international scholars presents the Charles Fax, vice president for Israel Action at the Jewish National Fund, in the Dicke Forum on Tuesday, April 17, at 7 p.m.

The title of Fax’s lecture is “Positively Israel: How Israel Makes the World a Better Place.” The presentation will include a short video and a question-and-answer session.

Fax has been active in the Jewish National Fund for more than 10 years, serving as regional president for Baltimore, zone president for the Mid-Atlantic Zone, and chair of Makor, the Fund’s national leadership society.

Between 2007 and 2010, Fax served as national vice president in charge of the Annual Campaign and chair of the National Campaign Cabinet. In October 2010, he became vice president of Israel Action.

 In addition to his work with the Jewish National Fund, Fax is a partner at the law firm of Rifkin, Livingston, Levitan and Silver, concentrating in securities and commercial litigation, employment law, land use litigation, government procurement, and constitutional law.

 Fax has served on the Board of Directors as an officer of the synagogue Ohr Kodesh Congregation and acted as a mediator for the Circuit Court of Baltimore. He has co-authored two textbooks on civil discovery, and he writes a column on civil procedure for Litigation News, the American Bar Association Section of Litigation magazine. Fax also is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Phi Beta Delta is the honor society for international scholars. Founded in 1987, the nominees for membership in the Gamma Upsilon chapter of Phi Beta Delta include outstanding faculty, staff, students and alumni.

The society hopes to integrate those who possess a deep commitment to international affairs, education and research. One of the functions of the Gamma Upsilon chapter has been to create a regular forum in which international affairs can be discussed using University sources and by seeking prominent individuals with varied experience in international affairs recruited from beyond the University community.
