The July 20 meeting of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce was an elegant affair at The Inn at ONU. The sound of live piano music greeted the ear and the scent of hot coffee wafted to the entrance.
THE INN AT ONU
While the Ada Public Library is “home” for chamber meetings, director Lindsay Walden is open to visiting chamber members at their place of business. On this day, members met Meghan Violet, the new manager of The Inn. Violet announced that the fountain in the courtyard will be turned into a fire pit and that The Inn will soon have a new website. Violet invites all businesses to contact her about services at The Inn.
Nancy Lou Gierhart, age 84, was called into the presence of the Lord at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Van Crest of Ada with the love of her family by her side.
Nancy was born July 28, 1937 in Lima, OH, to the late Michael M. Werner and Helen Irene (Wellbaum) Werner Metzger. On June 2, 1956 she married the love of her life, Jack D. Gierhart.
The regular Ada Council meeting of July 19 was held to conduct village business including the approval of minutes of the prior meeting and payment of bills.
Councilor Linda Mason was absent—and excused by the council. The next meeting will be rescheduled for August 9 because Mason and councilor Sheila Coressel will be working the polls on August 2. Add another expected absence and the original date would not have had the necessary number to conduct the meeting.
RESOLUTIONS
A single resolution was passed giving the mayor authorization to enter an engineering agreement for water meter replacement.
Work at 102 N. Johnson caught the eye of Icon photographer Marcie Mancuso, but has not crossed the desk of Zoning Inspector Michael Harnishfeger. The property is classified as a warehouse.
