James E. Searson, 86, died at 1:50 p.m. June 24, 2012, at Firelands Hospital in Sandusky.
He was born Aug. 4, 1925, in Dola to Harry I. and Magdalene Kern Searson, who preceded him in death. He married Barbara Fromm, who died Aug. 27, 1980. On Oct. 30, 1982, he married Marilyn (Lessiq)Smith, who survives in Dola.
Mr. Searson was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Dola. He was a Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9381, Ada.
Survivors also include two stepsons, Timothy S. Smith, of Upper Sandusky, and Jon D. (Mary) Smith, of Findlay; eight stepgrandchildren and a stepgreat-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Rausch.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. The Rev. Charles Horn will officiate. Burial will be in Dola Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or Hardin County Hospice.
