FROM FACEBOOK__A benefit is being held at 4:00 p.m. on October 11 at the Ada VFW for Myla Bodine. Organizers note, "We are coming together as a community to support Myla Bodine, a bright and kind 13-year-old girl who recently experienced the unimaginable—the sudden and unexpected loss of her father, Bryan Bodine.
"This benefit is being held to help ease the financial and emotional burden that comes with such a tragic loss. His passing has left a tremendous void in her life and the lives of those who loved him."
On October 6 NBC's Today Show featured a story on Ada's Wilson Football factory at 517 E Highland Ave. Reporter Kaylee Hartung tries her hand at all the steps that go into making a football by hand--and learns how much skill and experience it takes to make NFL footballs to the factory's exacting standards.
The Ada High School volleyball team was seeded third in the eight-team, Div. VI Northwest 5 District drawing held on Sunday, October 5.
The Bulldog girls (14-7) will host fifth seed Lima Central Catholic (11-8) in the sectional finals on Thursday, October 16 at 6 p.m.
Fourth seed Columbus Grove (9-10) will play sixth seed Spencerville (8-14) in the other lower half sectional final at Ada on Oct. 16 in the second match at approximately 8 p.m.
The Ada/LCC and Grove/Spencerville winners will meet in the district semifinals at Wapakoneta on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Gym “pink out” hosted in support of breast cancer awareness

ADA__The Ada High School volleyball team lost a three-setter to visiting power Pandora-Gilboa in their Blanchard Valley Conference finale match on Monday, October 6.
The evening also provided an opportunity to support breast cancer research. The Bulldogs sold t-shirts as part of the annual Dig for a Cure event. $2,602.41 was donated to the Kenton-based Not by Choice outreach program.
LIMA __The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team defeated non-league rival Lima Central Catholic 5-1 on Monday night, October 6.
Bulldog juniors Carson Coney and Andrew Allen each netted two goals and passed out an assist apiece to pace the victors.
Ada scored two goals in the first half to lead 2-0 at halftime. The Bulldogs outscored the Thunderbirds 3-1 in the second half to put the game out of reach.
The Bulldog record improved to 10-4-2 with the decisive victory. Struggling Lima Central Catholic fell to 2-11-1 after the defeat.
OCT 6 MEDIA RELEASE__The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce will host its next membership meeting on Wednesday, October 15 at 8:30 a.m. at the Ada Public Library. The chamber will be hosting all the candidates for Ada Village Council.
The chamber has also announced a Canva Creation Class on Wednesday, November 5 at 5:00 p.m. at The Regal Beagle. The cost is $20 per person and includes charcuterie provided by The Mezza. This fun, hands-on class is perfect for anyone looking to learn how to design eye-catching graphics for social media, events, or business promotions.
