Martha J. “Janie” Henson had lived in Ada 45 years
Martha J. “Janie” Henson, age 95, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 11:25 PM surrounded by her family at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born on June 22, 1917 in Wayne County, W.V. to Pearley and Sarah E. (Ball) Wilson, who preceded her in death. On June 24, 1938 she married Rev. Herbert J. Henson and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1987.
Janie was a homemaker. She was a 45 year resident of Ada and a member of the High Street Freewill Baptist Church of Harrod, where her husband was also the pastor for many years.
Surviving are three sons: Bill (Peggy) Henson of Elida, Carl D. (Martha) Henson of Nokesville, VA. and Ron L. (Bev) Henson of Bluffton, Ohio; Three Grandchildren:
Keith (Lisa Lugar) Henson of Cicero, Indiana, Jennifer (Mike) Parent of Elida and Corey (Mandy) Henson of Ada; Three Step Granddaughters: Heidi (Matt) Anderson of Shelby, Heather (Jason) Covert of Clyde & Hiliary (Josh) Churchill of Bellevue; Nine Grandchildren: Garrett, Chandler, Colin, Chloe, Jacob, Lucas, Grant, Jax & one Great Grandson to be born; Many Nieces & Nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Kay Henson in 1966; Two Brothers: Garland Wilson & Walter Wilson; One Sister: Hazel Fields.
A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 16, 2012 at High Street Freewill Baptist Church of Harrod with Rev. James K. Webb officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ada.
Friends may call 2:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the High Street Freewill Baptist Church of Harrod and/or Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
