JULY 15 MEDIA RELEASE__Hardin County United Way’s Executive Director, Martha Evans-Nau, participated in a four-day conference in Washington, D.C. Nau was one of three speakers selected from across the country to discuss their involvement in policy and advocacy issues. Evans-Nau spoke on her participation in state and national advocacy initiatives.

“As an emerging United Way, it has been exciting to start participating in conversations that affect our county, and to be able to do so on a state and national level. I was surprised and honored to be asked to speak at the national event. Representing Ohio and Hardin County at this level was an amazing opportunity,” Evans-Nau stated.

Forky is a Disney-Pixar character created from a plastic spork and appears in Toy Story 4. Forky has googly eyes and pipe cleaners for arms. Forky has a series of short films created by Ohio Northern University alumnus Bob Peterson. Bob wrote, directed and narrated the series titled Forky Asks A Question. These questions include what is art, what is money, what is a friend and what is time.

Our question is if there is evidence for a diet improving health outcomes related to the heart?

JULY 16 MEDIA RELEASE__The Hardin County Sheriff's Office is saddened to report the death of Detective Bryan Bodine, on Thursday, July 15, 2024. 

Detective Bodine had served the citizens of Hardin County for the past 12 years as an enforcement deputy, K-9 handler, and detective. He will be sadly missed as a valued friend and member of the Sheriff's office staff. 

Special appreciation is extended to Logan County Sheriff Randall Dodds and his staff for their assistance during this time, as well as to numerous other Law Enforcement and first responder agencies who have assisted and offered their support. 

The Tuesday, July 15 meeting of the Ada Rotary updated the Icon on the club's local and international service. Here Rotarian John Neville displays new signs that will alert the community to Rotary projects. Deb Phillips, Director of Chamber & Tourism at the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance talked about the benefits of chamber membership. Register now for cookoff / Event at War Memorial Park

JULY 15 MEDIA RELEASE__The Ada Rotary Club, in conjunction with the MW Pony Pals Horse Show, is hosting an Ice Cream Social and Shredded Chicken Cook-off on Saturday, July 26.

The event will take place at the Ada War Memorial Park from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the horse arena (dog park entrance).

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce meeting for July has been postponed until Wednesday the 23rd at 8:30 a.m.

The library meeting room is currently being used for summer reading activities.
