Ohio Northern senior shortstop Ashley Sujkowski helped the 2012 USA Women's Baseball team win the Silver medal at the IBAF Women's World Baseball Cup in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Aug. 10-19.
Team USA won the silver medal after defeating Canada 17-4 in the semifinals, assuring itself of a medal for the fifth time in the five World Cup tournaments.

The Americans posted a 6-3 record in the tournament, going 5-2 in the round-robin portion of play.
Sujkowski appeared in two games in the tournament as a relief pitcher, going 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA, allowing one run in one inning of work in her two appearances.
She made the 20-woman roster on the USA national women's baseball team during nationwide team tryouts June 2-Aug. 1.
Sujkowski has been a member of Team USA for the past three seasons, and helped the Americans win the bronze medal at the 2010 World Cup in Venezuela.
