Larry Smith had retired after 35 years at Whirlpool
Larry L. Smith, age 66, died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 12:25 PM at his residence in Dola.
He was born on April 28, 1946 in Mason, Michigan to Paul D. and Coletta (Hastings) Smith. They are both are deceased. He is survived by his step mother: Avis Smith of Kenton, Ohio.
He married Kathie E. Conley on September 15, 1974 and she survives in Dola, Ohio. Larry retired after 35 years at Whirlpool Corporation of Findlay, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from February 27, 1964-January 31, 1970. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #428 of Kenton, Ohio; a member of the Dunkirk Masonic Lodge F&AM #549; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 364 of Kenton; a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by 1 son: Bill (Michelle) Smith of North Baltimore, Ohio and 1 daughter: Angie (Gary) Hall of Ada, Ohio; 1 brother: Jerry (Gloria) Smith of Patterson, Ohio; 1 half brother: Tim Smith of Wapakoneta, Ohio; 1 step-sister: Kathy (Dave) Sybert of Ada, Ohio; 2 grandchildren: Colton Hall and Kendra Hall (and boyfriend Dalton Bass); 2 step-grandchildren: Heather Markel and Angel Markel; 2 step-great granddaughters: Pashients Herman and Ariahana Markel; a special nephew L.J. Smith of Celina, Ohio; a special great nephew J.J. Smith of Patterson, Ohio; a special friend: Ellie Bowsher of Dunkirk, Ohio; also surviving are many other nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by 1 half brother: Danny Smith.
A funeral service was Friday, August 3, 2012 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Burial will be in Dunkirk Cemetery, Dunkirk, Ohio. Graveside military services will be conducted by the AMVETS Post 1994 of Kenton.
