Maddy, what year are you at Ada?
I'm a senior.
What are some of the school organization you participate in?
Marching band, concert band, quiz bowl and show choir band.
What colleges are you looking at and what area of study might you pursue?
I am looking at Wesleyan University and Connecticut College, both in Connecticut, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, and Colgate University in New York. I would like to study Astronomy and Physics.
How did you become interested in Astronomy and Physics?
I became interested in Astronomy and Physics after I read a book explaining the physics behind the television show "Doctor Who."
What's the most recent book you read?
"One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," by Ken Kesey.
If you could meet one famous living person, who would that be?
I would meet John Green, the author of one of my favorite books, "Looking for Alaska."
What's the worst grade you ever received in school and tell us and what happened.
The worst grade I received was on a test in Planetary Astronomy at Ohio Northern University. I didn't do well at all because I didn't realize how much I had to study for the class. It made me change my studying habits.
Will you be voting for president in November? Have you decided who you'll vote for?
I will be voting in November, and I've had my mind made up for a very long time.
Can you recall the student you sat beside in the first grade?
I can't remember who I sat next to in first grade, but I can remember the people who sat at the same table as me in kindergarten.
What's your favorite food in the school cafeteria?
I really enjoy the cookies.
