Ohio Northern University celebrates Homecoming 2012 Oct. 5-7

Ohio Northern University will celebrate Homecoming 2012 from Oct. 5-7. All alumni, friends, family, faculty and students are welcome to attend.

With its “Where in the World’s Klondike?” theme, Homecoming weekend will kick off on Friday, Oct. 5. The Pettit College of Law will host various sessions throughout the day, including the dedication of the Rare Book Collection room at 5 p.m. and a law donor recognition dinner to follow.

At 6:30 p.m., former athletes will be honored during the ONU Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony and banquet.

The annual Stefanie Spielman Walk/Run for Breast Cancer kicks things off Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m., followed by many activities, including tours of the various colleges and the traditional Homecoming parade at 10:30 a.m. The ONU student chapter of the National Community Pharmacy Association will hold a health fair in the McIntosh activities room from 8-10 a.m.

A family-friendly tailgate party begins at 11:30 a.m. before the Homecoming game against Baldwin Wallace University. Music, games, carnival rides and food will be available for all to enjoy. Tailgate tickets can be purchased through the Office of Alumni Affairs.

Following the game, a class reunion reception will be held at The Inn in meeting rooms 1 and 2 at 4 p.m.

The entertainment for Saturday evening includes the sixth annual Sigma Phi Epsilon Balloon Glow at 6 p.m. and fireworks at approximately 7:45 p.m. Alice Tan Ridley with the ONU Symphony Orchestra will headline this year’s Homecoming concert in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts at 8:30 p.m.
