Isaac Spar, an Ada High School senior, is one of two young men to receive the Kenton Elks’ Hardin County teen of the year award (for boys).
The Ada senior tied with Garrett Thomas, a Kenton HS senior, for the award. Both students scored 400 points, which is the highest overall score possible in the scholarship competition.Both students will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Elks.
The girl student of the year is Megan Miller from Hardin Northern. She was also named volunteer of the year. She will receive scholarship awards of $1,000 and $500 respectively.
Ada's Lincoln Avenue's $2.5 million reconstruction and widen project is underway this spring by the Ohio Department of Transportation. The project affects the street between Union and Klingler Road. It includes replacing storm sewer, water main, curb and gutter and installation of new sidewalks. Beaverdam Excavating is the general contractor.
In cooperation with Ada schools, the Ada Icon will post each of the Ada High School class of 2020 seniors in the spotlight. Elizabeth McColloch is today's senior in the spotlight.
The Mobile Household Hazardous Waste unit scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, at the Hardin County Sheriff's Office has been cancelled due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
