Riley Creek Baptist Church will be hosting the Noteworthy Community Choir this Sunday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m.  

The choir, under the direction of Vicki Mills, will be performing a selection of sacred and secular Christmas music.

Riley Creek Baptist Church is located at 4950 Township Road, Bluffton.  This event is free and open to the public.

Two ONU student athletes received all-American honors for participation in fall sports.

Chelsea Hupper - volleyball
Ohio Northern senior middle hitter Chelsea Huppert (Bremen, Ind.) was named First Team Academic All-America in volleyball for 2019 in voting conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

She becomes only the second player in ONU history to be named First Team Academic All-America and the first since Liz Schnelle in 2009.

Huppert is the only Polar Bear volleyball player to be named Academic All-America two years in a row after earning Second team honors as a junior in 2018.

...and the dress codes goes out the window

If there’s an Ada school student in your home don’t be too concerned if he or she goes to school on Monday wear pajamas.

It’s the final week of the 2019 school year, and during this week, anything goes. Friday, Dec. 20, is the final school day of 2019. School opens for 2020 on Monday, Jan. 6.

The Ada Historical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room at the Ada Public Library, 320 N. Main Street, Ada.

Chapter earned Star Chapter Award for 10th consecutive year

The Ohio Northern University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) received several honors during the recent national conference in San Diego, Calif. 

The ONU chapter earned the Star Chapter Award for the 10th consecutive year.

This award recognizes chapters for achieving goals such as programming and relationship-building. The ONU chapter’s achievements include conducting workshops, excelling in client work for the student-run True North PR firm and offering members opportunities to learn more about the profession through tours of public relations firms in various cities.
