Surprised? You bet. It's mid-August and a surprise is in order. This surprise with a pink tinge can be found throughout Ada this week as "Surprise lillies" are suddenly in bloom. This set has an Ada water tower in the background.

Four letter winners and three starters return from last year's squad

ADA - The Ada varsity volleyball team enters its second season under head coach Kyleigh Tabor looking to return to the upper echelon of the Northwest Conference this fall.

Four letter winners and three starters return from last year's squad that finished 12-12 overall against a tough schedule. The Lady Bulldogs started out 3-0 in the NWC yet ended up 4-4 to finish fifth in the nine-team loop, ending their historic three-year run as league champions.

The Lady Bulldogs advanced to the district semifinals but lost to powerful Arlington.

Farmers and Merchants Picnic parade doesn't disappoint

Ken Collins captured several images of Saturday's Farmers and Merchants Picnic parade.

His photos include everything you might expect, from the U.S. flag leading the pack to bands, floats, sports teams, village and county leaders, cheerleaders, 4-H clubs and more.

Ready for some Bingo? Ada Public Library hosts a family Bingo game night starting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13. Rhett Grant, library administrator, is the Bingo caller.

Everyone and everything - flowers included - thirst this month. The hanging flowers on the ONU campus get a sip of water in a morning water break from an ONU staff member.
