Ross Tournament MVP as No. 12 Men's Soccer wins 4-1

ERIE (Pa.)--Frehshman Keegan Ross was named Tournament MVP of the Herb Lauffer Memorial as the No. 12 Ohio Northern men's soccer team defeated Centre (Ky.) by a 4-1 score Sunday afternoon in the championship game at Penn State Behrend.
The Polar Bears are now 2-0-0 on the year while Colonels fall to 1-1-0.
Ross scored two goals today and one yesterday to give him three for the tournament. He also registered an assist.
Centre struck first in the third minute when Jack Goblirsch scored to give them a 1-0 lead.
Northern would respond in the 21st minute when Ross took a pass from senior Nate Bascom and scored to knot things up at 1-1.
Senior Cameron Johnson would put ONU up 2-1 in the 38th minute, taking a pass from junior Mike Grossnickle and putting it in the net.
Johnson would score another goal in the 65th minute off of a rebound from a corner kick to give the Polar Bears a 3-1 lead. Juniors Matt Fleming and Stephen Perkins picked up the assists on the play.
Ross would end the scoring taking a pass from Perkins and knocking it home to give ONU the 4-1 lead in the 71st minute.
Senior goalie Mac Church made three saves of the afternoon and moves to 2-0-0 on the season.
ONU had 15 shots on the game, with eight of them coming on goal. Centre had nine shots with three on goal.
Ohio Northern will be in action again on Tuesday when they travel to Anderson (Ind.) for a 5 pm match.
