Ruth Ann Schneider taught school in Ada for 25 years
Ruth Ann Schneider, 72, of Findlay and formerly of Ada, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at 6:37 p.m. at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
She was born Sept. 12, 1940, in Bluffton to Homer Samuel and Mabel Ruth (Nowlan) Eckenrode. On Nov. 19, 1977, she married David D. Schneider at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Marion, and he survives in Findlay.
Mrs. Schneider taught at LaFayette Schools for five years and then taught at Ada, teaching third grade and remedial reading for 25 years, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Findlay, and was a member of the Order of Pricilla Ministry Group. She graduated from Ada High School and then from Ohio Northern University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She was a member of the former Quatre Club of Ada.
Surviving are a brother, Gary (Sharon Sue) Eckenrode, Findlay, a sister-in-law Marquita (Hugh) Foster of Peachtree City, Ga., and by two nieces and nephews.
A funeral service is at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Pastor Larry Kreps will officiate. Burial is in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Friends may call two hours prior to the service (from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) on Sept. 20, at the funeral home.
