Thorarensen scores twice as No. 18 Women's Soccer tops Wooster

Sophomore Sandra Thorarensen scored two goals in an eight minute span to lead the No. 18 Ohio Northern women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Wooster Sunday morning.
The Polar Bears are now 2-0-2 on the season while the Fighting Scots fall to 3-1-1.
The teams played a scoreless first half, but ONU got on the board quickly in the second half thanks to Thorarensen.
She fired a shot off of a throw in to give ONU the 1-0 lead in the 46th minute.
Sophomore Kristina Klusek and junior Sandy Plunkett picked up the assists on the play.
Thorarensen would score again in the 54th minute beating the keeper on a cross from Klusek.
Senior goalie Erin Waehner made one save and recorded her second consecutive shutout. Her record is now 2-0-2 on the season.
Northern fired 14 shots compared to seven for Wooster.
Ohio Northern will be in action again on Wednesday when they host Ohio Wesleyan at 4 pm.
