Check out the November events on Ada's calendar
Several events are planned in early November in Ada, according to the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce. Here's a capsule of those events:
Fall Festival Nov. 3
Fall Festival of Crafts at Community Health Professionals. Local crafters will sell their creations to help Ada residents with holiday decorations and gifts. A soup bar will be available featuring:
• Homemade ham and beans
• Cornbread
• Fresh vegetable soup
• Homemade bread
• Cookies and drinks.
Town and Gown Nov. 5
The 47th annual Ada Town and Gown Banquet will be held in the McIntosh Center ballroom on the campus of Ohio Northern University on Monday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m.
The Town and Gown Association was established in 1957 by a group of townspeople and ONU personnel to develop and maintain a strong positive relationship between the village of Ada and Ohio Northern. As with each year, the honor of Distinguished Citizen of the Year will be given to an Ada resident nominated by fellow citizens.
Tickets are available for $12 per person at the following locations:
• the Office of the Controller at Ohio Northern,
• The Inn at Ohio Northern University,
• U.S. Bank,
• Liberty National Bank,
• Ada Area Chamber of Commerce,
• Ada Education Association,
• Junior Civic League,
• Kiwanis Club, Lions Club,
• Ada Ministerial Association,
• Rotary Club,
• Twice Ten,
• Ohio Northern University Women’s Group,
• the village of Ada, and
• the Ada Community Improvement Corporation.
In addition to naming the Distinguished Citizen of the Year at the banquet, new owners of business/industries in Ada, as well as new employees with the Ada School System, ONU and the village of Ada will be introduced. New faculty and staff of Ohio Northern University will receive complimentary tickets from the Town and Gown committee.
Chamber meeting Nov. 14
The November chamber meeting will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 8 a.m. at Community Health Professionals. The chamber has several board positions open starting Jan. 1.
Those positions are:
• President
• Vice President
• Secretary/Treasurer, and
• Three board postions. Election will take place at December's meeting.
Hearing Aid Clinic
Plans are underway for a Hearing Aid Clinic mid-November. Watch the Icon for details.
