ONU student receives PRSSA Internship Award
Ohio Northern University junior Lauren Stahl, a communication arts/public relations major from Belle Center, Ohio, was awarded the Altschul Champions for PRSSA Outstanding Internship Award at the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) National Conference on Oct. 15.
“Receiving the Altschul Champions Outstanding Internship Award means so much to me,” Stahl said. “I was astonished when I found out that I was the winner. I am so honored to represent Ohio Northern University and owe an abundance of gratitude to my wonderful professors as well as the National Sporting Goods Association, the company I interned for. The association provided me with an invaluable experience that allowed me to learn and grow as a public relations student.”
The Altschul Champions for PRSSA Outstanding Internship Award is given to a student who has achieved success through a public relations internship. Stahl, who interned with the National Sporting Goods Association in Chicago, Ill., was required to submit a letter of recommendation from both her faculty and internship supervisor and describe her responsibilities and learning experiences.
Alisa Agozzino, assistant professor of communication arts and PRSSA adviser, said, “I am beyond excited for Lauren to receive this recognition. Of the more than 10,000 members of PRSSA, Lauren was chosen for her outstanding internship. Not only does she now have this honor, she still retains a superb public relations experience and portfolio to back it up.”
On ONU’s campus, Stahl is involved with PRSSA, True North PR, women’s club volleyball, intramural volleyball and Relay for Life.
