Trick-or-treat is Thursday; lots more Halloween events on Monday
Several Halloween-related events are planned in Ada. In fact you can dress up twice in October.
Thursday – Oct. 25 –
Trick-or-treat night in Ada, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Monday – Oct. 29 – The Ada Kiwanis Halloween parade is Monday, Oct. 29, behind the Municipal Building on Buckeye Street. Registration begins at 5:15 p.m. and the parade at 6 p.m.
Costume categories are:
• Prettiest
• Scariest
• Most original
Costume judging by age groups follow:
• Preschool and kindergarten
• First and second grades
• Third and fourth grades
• Fifth and sixth grades
• Groups – any age and pets
• Adults (most original only)
• Ada band
During and following the parade will be pumpkin cookie decorating at ReStore.
Immediately following the parade will be the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce scavenger hunt. Persons of all ages are welcome to participate in this fun evening.
Participants will receive maps at the Ada Depot on Main Street at about 6:30 p.m. on the 29th. The scavenger hunters will look for the business involved to find the numbered pumpkins at the location.
When the maps are completed participants will bring them back to the Depot by 7:30 p.m. Halloween snacks will be available while the drawing for prizes takes place.
Century 21 Beacon Realty, 208 N. Main St., Ada has free trick or treat bags available at the office while supplies last, according to Becky Neville.
