Ada Kiwanis Club prepares for Nov. 15 spaghetti supper
President Myrna McCurdy called the 7th meeting (Nov. 13) of the 2012-2013 Ada Kiwanis year to order at 12:00 noon at McIntosh Center, ONU.
The invocation was offered by Jon Umphress.
Guests introduced: Katie Lorson and Allie Puntel, from ONU Circle K.
Katie was wished a happy birthday in song. (Nov. 13th)
Tom Kier announced that he is now a great uncle.
In business:
-President Myrna reported on the Red Cross Bloodmobile visit yesterday. She said things went very well and the food was tasty. She thanked club members for their assistance. She also noted that she would like the committees to meet at 11:30 a.m. before our meeting next week.
-It was announced that our on Dec. 11th meeting will be our Christmas Luncheon/Auction at the Ada Visiting Nurses Members were asked to bring items for the auction.
-The Dec. 18 meeting will also be held at the Visiting Nurses.
-The next Division 2 meeting will be held on January 23rd at Milano Café in Lima. They would like for committee chairs to attend.
-ONU Circle K members Katie Lorson and Allie Puntel reported on their Operation Christmas Child project. They indicated that more shoe boxes were mailed than in previous years.
Kiwanis Education Minute:
-Object Three: “To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards”.
-Something to consider: From “Live and learn and Pass it on”, someone aged 51 said: “I’ve learned that women adapt to harsh conditions better and faster than men.”

Members spent the balance of the meeting reviewing last- minute details of the upcoming Spaghetti Dinner this Thursday at the Ada VFW.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:55 p.m.
The Ada Kiwanis Club meets each Tuesday at 12:00 noon at McIntosh Center, ONU. Guests are always welcome.
