Betty Jo Sherman, 1934-2012
Betty Jo Sherman, 78, died on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at 6:10 p.m. at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1934 in Hardin County, Ohio to Carl B. and Rhea (McElroy) Gardner who preceded her in death.
She first married Grover Boutwell and they were divorced and he preceded her in death in 1975. She then married Billy L. Sherman on June 13, 1973 and he survives in Ada.
Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of the Living Faith Ministries in Mendon, Ohio. She was a life member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 Women's Auxiliary and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Post #3003 Ladies Auxiliary of Findlay.
Also surviving are three sons: Grover Dean Boutwell of Roundhead, Terry (Dana) Boutwell and Kenny (Angie) Sherman both of Ada; three daughters: Ann (Gary) Miller of Harrod, Donna Hefner of LaFayette and Monica (Clark) Slater of Linwood, MI.; fourteen Grandchildren and fifteen Great Grandchildren; two brothers: Robert (Susan) Garnder of Columbus Grove and Larry (Pat) Crist of Bluffton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Boutwell; son-in-law, Nathan Hefner; brother, Donald Garnder.
It was her request to be cremated and have a private family service held at a later date.
Arrangements were handled by Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
