Women's cross country finishes seventh at NCAA III Great Lakes regionals
No. 30 ranked Ohio Northern finished seventh of 33 teams at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Women's Cross Country Championships Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (104-28) finished with 247 points.
Senior All-American Alison Steinbrunner won the individual title and broke her own school record in the process, winning the race in 21 minutes. Senior Lydia Weaver also earned All-Region honors by finishing eighth out of 234 runners in 21:58.
Both Steinbrunner and Weaver will participate as individuals in next Saturday's NCAA III Championships at Terre Haute, Ind.
Freshman Aya Tomozawa finished 65th in 23:40, senior Sarah Turley was 90th in 24:12 and junior Brooke Larsen was 91st in 24:12 for ONU.
No. 22 Hope (Mich.) won the team title with 91 points, No. 10 Oberlin was second with 95 points and No. 5 Calvin (Mich.) was third with 103 points.
