Ada's ReStore collection site for Hardin's Operation Sandy
ReStore Community Center, Ada, is now a collection site for Hardin County Operation Sandy.
The Hardin County Mayors met last Thursday evening to launch an effort called Hardin County Operation Sandy to collect items and cash to assist the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Many individuals are still in need of basic supplies and we intend to send or deliver a truckload of materials to the East Coast.
ReStore is working with ISOH/IMPACT of Waterville, to ensure that the goods we send are appropriate and needed. ISOH/IMPACT specifically requested that NO blankets, sleeping bags, or bottled water be included in this drive.
They are requesting that we focus the collection drive on the following items:
• Canned and nonperishable food items
• Personal care/ hygiene items
• Cleaning products
• Baby care items/diapers/wipes
• Paper towels/toilet paper/tissues
• Laundry detergent
• New children’s pajamas and underwear
• Cash donations (which will assist with fuel, packaging, and other expenses.)
Checks may be made to “Hardin County Operation Sandy.”
Cash is also acceptable. Receipts for cash and checks will be issued.
This drive will continue until at least Dec. 21. Items collected at ReStore will then be taken to a warehouse in Kenton where they will be delivered to either ISOH/IMPACT or directly to the affected area. The goal of this operation is to deliver these items by early January 2013.
Items may be dropped off at ReStore during regular store hours. Please do NOT drop them off behind the store when ReStore is not open.
