Annabelle Reese was active in several Ada community organizations
Annabelle M. Reese, age 90, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at 3:50 am at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
She was born on March 2, 1922 in Hardin County, Ohio to Leslie and Hazel (Weber) Smith and they preceded her in death. On Oct. 20, 1940 she married Otas W. Reese and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2006.
Annabelle was a homemaker and she previously worked as a waitress for 25 years at Marriott Foods at Ohio Northern University, Ada. She was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church of Ada and a member of the United Methodist Women of the Church.
She was a graduate McGuffey High School in 1940. She was a 55 year member of the Liberty Grange of Ada #2526, a 7th Degree member of the Grange and a member of the Pomona Grange of Hardin County.
She was a member of the American Legion Post #185 Ladies Auxiliary of Ada and a member of the Ada VFW Post #9381 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons: Dan (Cheryl) Reese and Dennis "Pete" (Sue) Reese both of Ada; daughter, Linda (Tom) Vermillion of Ada; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandson; two sisters: Alice Decker of Lima and Clarabelle Krofft of Ada.
She was preceded in death by a son, David F. Reese; granddaughter, Kendra Kay Vermillion; seven brothers: Charlie, Clarence, Norman, Ralph, Russell, Cloyce and John Smith; two sisters: Dorothy Fleming and Marie Bowman.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Chaplain Bill Herr and Rev. Jonathan Hanover officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
A Grange Service will begin at 7:30 pm on Thursday, November 29, 2012 and be conducted by the Liberty Grange of Ada #2526.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church of Ada.
