Steinbrunner, ONU women's cross country coaching staff honored by OAC
Senior Alison Steinbrunner was named OAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year and the Ohio Northern women's coaches were named Women's Coaching Satff of the Year in voting done by the league's 10 head coaches.
This is the third straight season that Steinbrunner and the coaching staff have won these awards.
Steinbrunner posted a time of 22:12 at the OAC Championships, which was good for her fourth straight OAC Championship.
She is the only female to accomplish this feat in conference history. In addition, Steinbrunner finished second at the NCAA Championships.
Her second place finish was the best in school and OAC history and made her a three time All-American.
The ONU coaching staff, led by head coach Jason Maus, assistant coach Casey Gantt and recruiting coordinator Heath Gibson, led the team to a 103-28 record on the season.
The Polar Bears won their third straight OAC Women's Cross Country Championship and qualified for their third consecutive NCAA Regional race.
