15 minutes with Courtney Rudasill - who may dance herself to fame
15 minutes with Courtney Rudasill
Courtney, what year are you at Ada High School?
I’m a junior.
Tell me about some of your school activities.
I’m in the varsity singers, show choir. We meet first period and before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What’s your favorite type of music?
93.9. Hip Hop.
You probably store lots of music. How much music have you stored and where do you keep it?
I keep it on my phone and I’ve stored 403 songs. A lot of it is Chris Brown. When I get a gift card I usually go and fill it up with more music.
Do you text much?
Not a lot. Maybe to my mom and my friend, Hannah. Just conversations after school. Probably 15 times a day. If I’m mad about something I’ll text Hannah and she’ll respond: “Let’s go get some food.”
I understand you like movies. Do you have lots of them? What’s your all-time favorite?
Yeah, I have lots of movies. Probably my all-time favorite is “Cruel Intentions” with Reese Witherspoon. I’ve watched it between 10 and 20 times.
You can probably turn off the sound and repeat all the dialogue, right?
Yes.
Tell me about show choir.
I’m a soprano. I’ve danced since I was a freshman. We probably perform 20 times a year. We are going to perform in Piqua on Saturday at 7:30 a.m.
What’s your favorite food from the school cafeteria?
Fruit roll ups.
Tell me about your TV show collection.
I have 200 seasons of shows.
Which shows?
All of Dawson’s Creek, One Tree Hill, Buffy. I’ve watched since I was little.
Tell me about the first time you ever went TPing.
(Pause). I was 8 or 9, I really don’t remember. I went with Taylor Pierce. My mom took us.
What would you like to do after graduation?
I’d like to be an actress. I’m in the school musical. Wizard of Oz.
What’s your least favorite topping on pizzas?
Banana peppers.
I agree with you on that.
