Ada HS spring musical will lead down the Yellow Brick Road
We don’t know if Justin England has ever been to Kansas, but he and the Ada High School cast of “The Wizard of Oz” plan a trip there in May. They will take you with them.
This spring’s Ada HS musical is “The Wizard of Oz.” Justin, an Ada junior, was recently cast in the role of the wizard. No, the production won’t be performed in the State of Kansas – you’ll have to pretend that – instead it will be in the Ada school auditorium.
This is Justin’s third role in an Ada HS drama production. He was a member of the cast of “Lagoon” as an eighth grader and “A Haunting We Will Go,” as a sophomore.
“I like to memorize play parts,” he said when talking with The Icon. “I should have my lines down in the next month."
According to Abby Glenn, director of the musical, the entire cast of the musical is just about set. Watch the Icon for the cast list.
When Justin isn’t on the stage, he’s on the farm in Ohio. As an eight-year member of the Ada Barnyard 4-H Club, he takes care of 23 chickens (80 more are coming this spring), seven ducks, and two horses. In 2012 he was the Hardin County Junior Fair Poultry King.
This semester he is taling Chemistry, Anatomy, Geography, English, Government, Geometry and Vocational Agriculture. He is also a member of the Ada High School FFA.
