Women's basketball moves up to no. 6 in D3hoops.com com poll; No. 7 in USA Today sports coaches poll

The Ohio Northern women's basketball team moved up to a season high ranking of No. 6 in the ninth weekly D3hoops.com poll and a season best No. 7 in the USA Today Sports Division III Top 25 Coaches poll.
The Polar Bears received 475 votes in the D3hoops.com poll, which was 34 more than they received in last weeks poll.
DePauw (Ind.) stayed at the top of the poll with 623 points and 23 of the 25 first place votes, Calvin (Mich) is ranked second with 593 points and the two remaining first place votes and Hope (Mich.) is third with 548 points.
ONU was ranked No. 8 in the previous two polls, No. 9 in the sixth poll, was No. 12 in the fifth poll, was No. 15 in the fourth poll, was No. 17 in the third poll, was No. 20 in the second poll and was No. 24 in the first poll.
In the USA Today Sports poll, Northern received 146 points, which was 16 more points than last week.
Depauw (Ind.) remained No. 1 with 200 points followed by Calvin (Mich.), Amherst (Mass.), Tufts (Mass.) and Hope (Mich.)
Ohio Northern has won a school record 17 games in a row, has an overall record of 18-1 and is in first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference with an 12-0 mark.
The Polar Bears will be in action again on Wednesday when they welcome Otterbein to the ONU Sports Center at 7:30 p.m.
