Libraries Rock is the theme

“Libraries Rock” is the theme of the Alger Library’s free summer reading program going on now through July 20.  Kids, teens and adults are encouraged to participate by checking-out and reading books to receive tickets for prizes to be awarded at the end of summer read.

ADA - Ada seniors Sydney Newland and Maddie Gossard were each voted second team Div. IV All-Ohio in softball for the 2018 season by the northwest district coaches.

 

The talented duo led the Lady Bulldogs to a 57-41 record over their four seasons, making their senior group the winningest class in program annals.

 

The pair will be honored at a banquet Monday, June 18 in Columbus at the Villa Milano restaurant. Every 2018 All-Ohio player from all four divisions will be recognized at the event.

 

Bridge Home Health & Hospice, a nonprofit organization providing home health care and hospice services, will offer training courses for prospective volunteers beginning on Thursday, June 14.

The training will be held in the Hub Conference Room at Birchaven Village, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, and will take place for six consecutive Thursdays from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Courses will cover the basic principles of hospice, understanding the needs of patients and their families, effective communication, patient care, pain and symptom management, spiritual care giving and understanding grief and loss.
